Reflective Essay

Our teacher in English III told us to make a blog as a project for the fourth grading. I haven't posted any blog ever since i live in this wonderful world that we are living in. I have no idea how to make it and any other things about making blogs. But, it is not a problem because our good and kind teacher is willing to help us and also my classmates are very kind because they helped me post some blogs.

I was having a hard time making my blogs because i have nothing to share except my outputs in English. I don't want others to see and read my outputs because i think that the reader will not like my work.  When i have nothing to do, i spend my time looking and learning how this blogger works. I really had fun posting my outputs in English because i like spending most of my time using the computer.

Reaction Paper on "Thank You Ma'am"

Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones should be a role model for every women, so that they can realize that they can take care of themselves from any form of danger and to forget that women are weak and they can’t stand on themselves and stay at home doing household chores.
The story is very interesting and fascinating to read that has lots of good characteristics and values that we can learn that is the reason why I think it is a good choice for me to read the story. Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones treated the boy like her own son after he attempted to steal her purse. This kind of things happens in real life, we get mad, we get angry, if we caught someone stealing something from us, or even our own wallet, we punish these person/persons by sending them to jail. Instead of punishing the boy, Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones did not punish the boy, she treated the boy like her master, or her own child. If many people will be like Mrs. Jones, a lot of people will be not be afraid to steal anymore because they know that they will not be punished or sent to jail and instead they are treated like royalty. Roger was the name of the boy who stole her purse. She didn’t release him; instead she brought her into her house and clean him up. These kinds of actions are somewhat impossible to in real life. Of all people, who would be dumb enough to bring a thief into their own house? Another dissatisfaction is how Mrs. Jones taught Roger in learning his lesson for stealing purse. The unusual procedures that she made are when she let the door open and leaving the purse in the day-bed. Not the appropriate approach in teaching someone a lesson that tried to steal her purse. There is a big chance that Roger would get the purse and leave the house immediately. This is one of the big mistakes that Mrs. Jones have done. Roger would just easily slip away with the loot. But in great surprise, Roger did not leave the house or even touched Mrs. Jones purse. This greatly implies you can never judge a person base on their looks and that everyone deserves a second chance it’s just a matter of trust for one another. There are also good things that occur in the story. Mrs. Jones took care of the boy for she wanted to treat him as her own son. It’s not stated that she has a child. In fact, she was only the one living in her apartment. Perhaps that’s the reason why she let Roger inside her house because she wanted to be like a mother who is willing to give everything and teaching good moral conduct to her son. Maybe this is what she wants and we should accept people for who they are and what they want to be. I was really surprised when Roger did not leave the house when he was given the chance to run away with Mrs. Jones’ purse.
The lesson is that if you want something, stealing is not the solution for that problem, there are people out there to help you. People can be changed by love and trust.

What Christmas Means to Me

Christmas is the  celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, who is  the Son of God, and the savior of all people. Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year. Not only for the holly and mistletoe but for the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas to me: Is time that I'm able to spend with family and friends catching up on times that we weren't able to have. And since I live in Japan it doesn't mean as much any more because I'm not able to be with the rest of my family.....but I still love it, not just for getting presents but still being able to be with what family I have.

Christmas is the right time to show kindness and love with each other. We should love each other because we are sons and daughters of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Change the World

The earth is considered as one of the most beautiful planets in the universe. It is the only planet in our galaxy that has enough water to support life. Unfortunately our planet is suffering due to many problems which should be solved before it is too late. One of the problems facing our world is population.

Overpopulation has a definite effect on a country’s economy. First of all, when countries are overpopulated, the hardly have enough food to support themselves, never mind the hope of having a surplus to sell.  This can contribute to a low GDP per Capita which is effect overpopulation has on the economy.  In an attempt to save the people from the starvation, the government will most likely have to rely on foreign debt.  This puts the country in debt at stretches the government’s already meagre resources.  Furthermore, when a country is overpopulated, there is a high rate of unemployment because there just aren’t enough jobs to support the population.  This results in a high level of crime because the people will need to steal things in order to survive.
Overpopulation does not just affect the standard of living, but also the environment. Every person on the planet takes up space, but space is needed for farmland, and forests. People excrete wastes and pollution that flow into water systems, and animal habitats, polluting water, and killing wildlife. Many people cannot bathe or brush their teeth because of the status of the water in their land. Forests are being torn down as more wood and land is needed to support our ever-growing population. The loss of these forests leads to extinction of plants and animals. These plants could contain cures for diseases that will never be found.

What must we do to ensure that population growth is not out of control?  The answer lies in education. We humans are a very young species. We have been here for only a short time. We are like a child just learning to walk. We face grave challenges that demand a rapid shift in our behavior. Our teacher is our parent. Our parent is the natural world from which we emerged. In every way, in every facet of our existence, we must learn to align ourselves with that which supports life. There is no alternative if we are going to avoid catastrophic consequences. With so many of us on a very small planet, and with the addition of so many more every week, we can no longer continue to relate to each other, our environment, ecological systems and biosphere as we have or we will succumb to the effects of human overpopulation. Nature, which could not care less, will eliminate us. We humans must grow up and learn to walk…hand in hand with each other and with our natural world. There is no alternative if we wish to sustain humanity and advance our civilization.

Our Values Today

Our good values are to be treasured on our hearts. These good values are very important in our lives.
We use them in everything we do, in talking or communicating with other people. Through these values, we can make very good friends.
Today, our values are very nice. we people are very good. Some people are very kind and polite. They are very kind to other people. Although, some people are rude and not kind .There are those who don't show respect to other people. Our values today is very important because without these values, our world would be at war but because of these values , we can attain peace in our hearts.
Therefore, we should use our values so that we will have peace and there would be no more war in this world.

My Teacher, My Hero

A teacher has a very big  mission. Because of them , we students learn more about the things around us . Teachers are to develop the students to be productive and to be responsible citizens. Some teachers make an excellent young artist with artistic potential and renewed spitirtually commited. When we feel love and kindness towards others, it doesn't only make others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us to develop inner happiness and peace.
I love all of my teachers. They all helped me and my classmates learn more things. Teachers are similarly the same with heroes. They are the same in the way that they help a lot of people. Teachers and heroes may not be physically the same, but their goals are the same and that is to help us people and make a better place for us, and maybe someday, us students, will become heroes ourselves because of our teachers .We love our teachers.
